Micro-encapsulated PureTemp PCMs will radically change the textile industry

Many textile technologies have tried to control body temperature by either blocking outside elements or wicking away body moisture. While these approaches may help somewhat, they simply don't maintain body temperature. Naturally the human body works to control temperature through perspiration or increased blood flow. Entropy Solutions' PCM technology continuously absorbs or releases energy to maintain temperature in various applications.

Coated and infused MicroPCM textile products that absorb, store and release the body's excess heat could be used in everything from ski jackets to military uniforms, gloves and footwear. For example, if MicroPCMs are in the construction of a ski jacket, it will absorb heat from the room where it's kept and use that heat to keep a skier warm on the slopes. Products incorporating PureTemp™ technology continuously adjust to either store or release heat to keep the human body at ideal.

Other potential uses include:
  • Encapsulating PCMs into divers' suits to keep rescue workers comfortable
  • Military uniforms for both humans and canines
  • Pet beds and blankets
  • PCM-enhanced cooling suits for firefighters and hazmat workers
